Check out Michael's Instruments!

Michael recently visited John Pisano's home and tried out a few of John's guitars--one 

of which John decided to sell to Michael.  The 1947 Gibson L5.  See the pictures of the 

guitar below, a letter from John, and also a picture of John (playing the guitar) and 

Joe Pass from the cover of their Duets CD.  This guitar has incredible tone!

During a recent trip to L.A., Michael picked up an Eastman Uptown archtop.  

The guitar specifications are as follows:

• Handcarved 17” body having a 25” scale.
• Solid maple back and sides and solid aged spruce top.
• Three-piece maple neck with a solid ebony fingerboard.
• Heavy duty, classically designed tuners and tailpiece, and a J.W. Eastman hardshell case all come standard.

John Pisano and Barry Zweig also play Eastman guitars.

Bory's guitar.  Handmade by Roger Borys.  Michael inherited this guitar from Jimmy Wyble--his first guitar teacher.

1974 Howard Roberts Custom Model Epiphone.  Michael uses this guitar to play jazz shows.

1942 Gibson L7.  Michael recorded the Acoustic Moods CD with this guitar.:

1990 Gibson ES 775 - This is an update to the ES-175 model.  Michael used this guitar on the Natural Instincts CD, and also the New Journey CD.

1960 Gibson ES 335 walnut finish.  This guitar was used for the Carol Burnett show and also the Flintstones television show.:

Guild Super X500 Archtop.  Michael got this guitar in 1959.

Samick JZ4.  Michael uses this guitar to teach and also to practice.

1978 Gibson ES-175CC (Charlie Christian) guitar.  Used for gigs and various performances.: :

1970 Ovation Ballader acoustic. Michael used this on the Carol Burnett show, and also for various jobs while working in the LA studios.
