Michael Anthony Trio "Sands of Time" CD Release Party

The Michael Anthony Trio features three of Albuquerque’s finest jazz musicians— guitarist Michael Anthony; bassist Milo Jaramillo; and drummer, Andrew Poling. Celebrating the release of their new CD, Sands of Time, the trio will perform music from the CD, which is dedicated to Anthony’s first guitar teacher, Jimmy Wyble, as well as jazz standards and some Latin heat. Since moving to New Mexico in 1980, Michael Anthony has been one of the most respected and sought after guitarists on the scene. He spent fifteen years in Los Angeles working in recording studios with artists like Blue Mitchell, Hubert Laws, the Bobby Bryant Orchestra, the Louie Belson Orchestra, Quincy Jones and many others and also played with the Gil Evans Orchestra accompanying Miles Davis at the Monterey Jazz Festival. Anthony has recorded five CDs under his own name. In his trio he is joined by Isleta Pueblo native, Rob “Milo” Jaramillo, one of the most in-demand bassists in New Mexico for over 20 years; plus the versatile and ubiquitous Andrew Poling.
